A New Chapter

I have been finally released to my OB's office. I met with Dr. Forceir (Winkleman had an emergency delivery, go figure) on 6/8. He said my cervix is tightly closed and nothing to worry about. I asked the nurse if we could hear the heartbeat - we have been so spoiled every week by hearing that thump thump thump racing! She said she would attempt to  use the doppler but not to be discouraged if we couldn't hear it because sometimes the baby can play hard to get. Oh sure! I won' be worried! ...crickets. Are you psychotic lady?! I would piss my pants if we couldn't hear the heartbeat! Well I think baby knew that because loud and clear and at 159bpm we heard our thump thump thump. Sigh of relief.

We were scheduled the next night for our offical NT u/s and bloodwork. Forceir wanted to rule out any worries that Karande may have had. The "sonographer" (so fancy!) was awesome. She said our nuchal fold is PERFECT and my cervix is PERFECT. She's not worried in the least. Such a relief. she gave us some pictures of the baby. Again, we have been so spoiled to watch it grow week by week and it will be hard to wait another 7-8 for the next u/s.

I am continually thankful that everything is moving as smoothly as possible. It's going to be a long hard wait until our next appointment in four weeks and the u/s after that, but every moment is worth it. This baby is meant for us. I can feel it in my bones. I just can't wait to meet him or her.

Look at those long legs!
